Heavy storms and striking rain.
I close my eyes against the pain.
I look to you, and see the same
Thing I saw as I asked in vain
For your help, support, a shoulder to cry on
Becoming a final bed to die on.
A turned back, a broken oath,
We’re off the track, you and me both.
So now I have to stand alone,
And face the future, still unknown
I’ll face the storms and I’ll endure
And fight that my mind can stay pure.
I look around and start to ask,
Why have I been given this task?
And I begin to wonder, even now
That alone, without your help, how
Can I hope to do what is asked of me?
